🎉 Yesterday was exciting as Caliber Venture Builder Studio welcomed #VitalikButerin for lunch and an enlightening Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with our founders and friends in Hanoi! Vitalik's profound insights into current narratives such as AA, zk, rollup, and more are invaluable in shaping our product development and strategies. Here are some key takeaways from our discussion: 1. His preference lies with #AA for social recovery. Eventually, multilayer AA is also important where the ownership logic can be changed one time for all chains (at least all #L2s of #Ethereum) 2. #Optimistic Rollups’ challenge period can be shortened in happy cases or automatically adjustable with the help of validators' on-chain checking. E.g. Zk, as a solution, holds promise for significantly reducing challenge periods. 3. The advancements achieved by ZK tech over the past four years have been substantial, with further enhancements anticipated soon. Emphasizing proof parallelism & aggregation stands out as a key area of focus for future development. E.g. all #Zkrollups submit only 1 proof to L1. 4. He enumerates various intersections between blockchain and #AI: AI as a player in a game, as an interface to the game, as the rules of the game & as the objective of the game. However, be mindful of the difference in the nature of the two (decentralized vs centralized) 5. #Restaking as a way to provide soft confirmation/validation service is a good use case. However, there remains uncertainty regarding its applicability across other contexts. 6. 1559 has greatly improved UX. #Blob (EIP 4844) represents a notable advancement within the Ethereum ecosystem, offering substantial enhancements across its entirety. He considers that most major difficulties for Ethereum L1 are behind us now. 7. L1 still needs #Verkle, single slot finality, and some improvements but the major challenge now is to approach the users and sort out the last mile issues. 8. An imperative demand pertains to the development of a secure and user-friendly wallet setup. Like how to make sure the users’ wallets won’t be lost or hacked, permanently. 9. #L2s can share: - Ethereum as settlement layer (obviously) - Blob as DA layer - One logic for AA - Proof aggregation layer - Shared sequencer 10. He encourages builders to be mindful of tech progress and avoid fixing the mindset in one solution.
