Kathy recently celebrated her 11th anniversary as the Accounting Manager at Care One, Inc. Over the years, she's adapted to various changes within the company, including the discontinuation of home healthcare services, which slightly impacted her role. Kathy treasures the memories of working with dedicated healthcare workers but is excited about Care One's bright future. What Kathy loves most about working at Care One is the teamwork. She describes the company culture as a well-oiled machine, where everyone pitches in and helps out in different areas. Kathy appreciates how each team member knows enough about each other's roles to be genuinely helpful, and the team is always quick to offer positive feedback and praise. In her free time, Kathy enjoys exercising, chasing her grandkids around the park or the beach, and getting lost in a good crime novel. Recently, she's taken up playing pickleball, and she finds it both fun and challenging. Her favorite color is green, and she always chooses it whenever she has the option Kathy has some exciting travel plans on the horizon to celebrate her 40th wedding anniversary. She and her spouse plan to explore some of the country's best hiking spots and breathtaking views. Another travel goal is to RV up through Canada into Alaska, and then make their way back home through the states. If she could choose to live in a different era, Kathy would pick the 1800s. She acknowledges the challenges of that time, but she finds the period fascinating. Care One has been providing swift and effective staffing solutions since 1993. Compelled by the shortage of healthcare professionals in Michigan, Care One’s President and CEO Steven Cook founded the company in an effort to help facilities remain sufficiently staffed so that they could ensure premium care. He quickly recognized that the shortage of healthcare professionals was made worse by the poor quality of matching staff to facilities. Nobody was listening to the needs of the staff, and nobody seemed to be listening to the needs of the facilities. Steven decided to take a different approach. His goal was not to be the biggest staffing agency, rather his goal was to be the best staffing agency. He arrived at a simple philosophy that remains at the core of Care One to this day. We listen, we learn, we understand. It worked, and Care One has grown from staffing a few nurses and a handful of facilities in isolated parts of Michigan, to working with hundreds of healthcare professionals serving scores of clients across the state in a variety of health care facilities.
