    Several medical facilities throughout the Carle Health system received Get With The Guidelines® designations for ensuring stroke patients receive treatment according to highest quality standards. The Carle Health adherence to GWTG means strict quality achievement measures were met in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke. This includes proper medication and treatment, reducing mortality rates, quick recovery and limiting disability because of stroke. “This recognition means that we meet strict quality measures in diagnosing and treating stroke. When patients come to Carle Heath for care, they can be confident that we're dedicated to providing them with the best possible outcomes." -Kristin Pritts, Director of Quality, Carle Foundation Hospital Carle Foundation Hospital (CFH) is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Central Illinois, featuring a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the emergency department. Carle BroMenn Medical Center (CBMC) and Carle Health Methodist Hospital (CHMH) are both Primary Stroke Centers and, like CFH, offer an inpatient rehabilitation unit for patients recovering from a stroke, or other illness or injury. Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center, Carle Eureka Hospital, Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Carle Health Proctor Hospital and Carle Health Pekin Hospital are Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals. Teams at each location are ready to begin stroke care and transfer patients to a higher level of care as needed.     What stuck with Marlie was the pale color of the patient she was transporting. She knew the patient was in immediate danger and acted on her instinct. And because of her quick response, she helped save a life. Congrats to Marlie Ward, patient transporter at Carle Foundation Hospital, recipient of the first Biannual Patient Safety Award at Carle Health.👏👏

    A new teal-blue Behavioral Health van is hitting the streets of Vermilion County. 🚐🩺 Carle Health's 'Recovery is for Everyone' van will make it's debut on Aug. 17 at Heavenly Square Grocery (1419 N. Bowman Ave., in Danville). The van is planned to start out with appearances at community events, before eventually bringing services directly into neighborhoods that need it most. The ‘Recovery is for Everyone’ van is designed to give those who need help a new way to connect with an expert for information and resources for themselves or a loved one struggling with substance misuse or in need of mental healthcare.     From the hundreds of patients who participated in clinical studies, to the clinicians who helped researchers refine technology with real-world comparisons, Carle is proud to join other healthcare partners in commitment to research and technology advancements for cancer patients here at home and around the globe. 👏

    Congratulations to the multidisciplinary team from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Mayo Clinic, Carle Health, & University of Illinois Research Park startup Eleuthra Photonics on being awarded an up to $33m contract from Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to develop an end-to-end solution they are developing will drastically improve surgical outcomes for cancer tumor removal. Funded through the ARPA-H Precision Surgical Interventions (PSI) program, the project, Margin Diagnostics (MarginDx), combines optical imaging technologies with AI screening tools to ensure, in real time, that tumor tissue and cells are completely removed during surgery. The MarginDx project team at Illinois will include domain experts from The Grainger College of Engineering, IHSI, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.
