This morning, over 70 Dallas employees came together for #GlobalImpactMonth in support of Greenspace Dallas. The nonprofit champions the Great Trinity Forest, the largest urban forest in the United States, and the restoration of the Trinity River watershed. Greenspace’s goal is to develop national park-quality greenspaces for the community to enjoy, including natural surfaces, multi-use trails, picnic areas and docks, along with organizing year-round clean-up campaigns. Employees and our special guest Lucy, the Dallas pet mascot, helped create over 800 seedballs, which will be scattered across Blackland Prairies. Seedballs are made with wildflower seeds like Bluebonnets and Firewheels and are an effective prairie restoration technique. We are proud to have partnered with Greenspace for almost two years now and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact together in the areas where we live and work. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

Our Florence employees recently participated in the Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) Refugees Household Packs Drive, organized by the ACE ERG in collaboration with the Celanese Foundation. As part of #GlobalImpactMonth, 40 volunteers packed household items for newly arrived local refugee families. The day also included an insightful presentation from a delegate of KRM, where employees learned that around 160 million people are displaced globally every year – approximately 1 in 60 people worldwide have to start their lives from scratch. KRM provides resettlement services that empower refugees to become self-sufficient and contribute to their new homes. Through their programs, they foster hope, advocate for newcomers and transform lives. The collective effort of our volunteers exemplifies the values of the ACE ERG and the Celanese Foundation, demonstrating our commitment to social responsibility and community support. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

Our Brazil site started off #GlobalImpactMonth with a visit to the Creche Sementinhas in Suzano. Not only did they plant seedlings and revitalize the garden area, but also took the time to refresh the painting, adding a vibrant touch to the day care center. Creche Sementinhas is part of AAMAE - ASSOCIAÇÃO, an NGO that provides education, shelter and necessities like food to children, women and the elderly. Their efforts are inspiring, and we are proud to contribute to their mission of strengthening families and community development. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

Our commitment to serving our communities is a key part of our mission and values at Celanese. Every September, our sites across the world celebrate #GlobalImpactMonth, which is a special opportunity to once again focus on volunteerism and giving back. To kick things off this year, our Oberhausen team participated in the #MUKOBikeTour in Bocholt. For the past 10 years, hundreds of amateur and professional cyclists from all over Germany have come together to ride through the Münsterland region in support of the German Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation. The bike tour aims to support research into this disease, with the hope of finding a cure in the future. Despite the hot weather, Oberhausen employees successfully completed the 59-kilometer ride with lots of fun and enthusiasm. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware provides a “home away from home” for families of ill children who need a place to stay while their kid receives treatment at a hospital. In addition to providing a safe place to stay, the Ronald McDonald House offers nurturing and supportive environments where families can be together and find comfort. Recently, Celanese employees and members of our Wilmington site Young Professionals ERG helped assemble 100 lunch kits for these families to consume on-the-go so they can take care of themselves while also caring for their loved one receiving treatment. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

Celanese reported Q2 2024 earnings today. The company delivered a double-digit sequential expansion of adjusted EBIT in spite of some of the most severe external challenges it faced in many years. However, in this environment, Celanese stayed focused on delivering on its action plan, which resulted in the highest ever contribution from the Engineered Materials business in history. The Verband der Chemischen Industrie e.V. (VCI) Hesse chapter recognized Celanese as the winner of its 2024 Responsible Care regional competition for its Learning Team project. This safety awareness program at our Frankfurt site has various teams identifying potential sources of danger or uncertainty in everyday work situations and empowers them to come up with workable solutions. The concept of “learning teams” builds trust and promotes the independence and adaptability of employees by giving them the freedom and discretion to do their job in a way they see fit.
