The Charter Schools Development Center (CSDC) provides experienced and expert technical assistance and resources to charter school developers, operators, charter-granting agencies, and policymakers, primarily in California. We support all charter schools, in California and beyond, with our knowledge and expertise in the areas of charter school leadership, finance, operations, governance, accountability, advocacy and development. Our mission is to help public education change from a highly regulated, process-based system to one that allows and encourages schools to be more creative, performance-based centers of effective teaching and learning. We aim to achieve this by providing technical assistance to the charter school reform movement in California, nationally, and internationally.

Educator burn out is REAL, but does it have to be? What if the words teaching and burn out stopped being synonymous and we created environments where educators could thrive, not just survive? I’m thrilled to be presenting at the 2024 Charter Schools Development Center (CSDC) conference in Sacramento, CA, alongside Dr. Nicole Assisi and Michelle Rainey to share some of our innovative solutions for tackling burnout and creating a sustainable future for our educators. 🌱👩🏫 . You'll hear from CSDC’s Legislative & Community Outreach Specialist, Laura Kerr, who will review the status of key charter-specific and general K-12 education legislation pending in Sacramento. And you'll learn about the latest changes affecting nonclassroom-based instruction, including CSDC's review of the recommendations put forth by the State Controller’s count-appointed task force. The legislature passed a set of budget and related “trailer” bills this week that reflect a full budget package negotiated with the support of Governor Newsom and that amend a prior “placeholder” budget. The related trailer bills, including the 336-page education trailer bill, have not yet made it to the governor’s desk, though we presume he will sign them into law. CSDC’s Founder & Executive Director, Eric Premack, has more on the full budget package for CSDC Members here: https://lnkd.in/giS7xxwb And be sure to join Eric and CSDC’s team of charter specialists on July 17 for the Adopted Budget and Summer Update Webinar—the culmination of our 2024 Budget, Policy, and Leadership Update Series. https://lnkd.in/gruxWU6f
