Can you imagine being taken from your home because your family has abused, neglected or abandoned you? You are taken to a new place and are expected to start over. You can’t take your pet, your bed or much else. You will probably be at a different school in another part of town so you lost your friends, too. If you have sisters and brothers, they are most likely not with you. Child Guardians helps these children recover and try to live normal lives. Through our Brandon Fund, we help kids in dependency cases with medical, dental, social, physical and self-esteem needs. That means we pay for things foster parents cannot afford or Medicaid does not cover like special counseling, dental bills, sports uniforms or an instrument or summer camp. We cover Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. We want to help these children live the life they deserve, rather than the life they've experienced so far. We are thrilled to announce that Child Guardians, Inc. has been awarded a 2024 Dollars for Doers Grant from Navy Federal Credit Union! This incredible program recognizes 100 Navy Federal employee volunteers by donating a $1,000 philanthropic grant to the nonprofit they serve in support of their volunteer work. A huge thank you to our dedicated board members Marcia Anne Baris-Sanders, Jenilyn E. and Meagan Ashe for submitting Child Guardians for this grant.
