For the second year in a row, Cambridge employees were proud to participate in City Hall Selfie Day. Nationally organized by ELGL: Engaging Local Government Leaders, it was celebrated this week and involves celebrating public service by taking selfies and other photos in front of City Hall and other local government buildings. Several departments across the City took part in the public service celebration this year, including Arts, Clerk’s Office, Communications, Community Development, DHSP, Finance, Historical Commission, Human Resources, Library, Peace Commission, Police, Public Health, and Strategy. Every year since 2016, government employees, elected officials, and community members have participated in the event across the country. It serves as a great reminder of the people behind the important work in local government and offers another way to engage with community members. Congratulations to Cambridge Police Department’s Superintendent Pauline Wells. She and her fellow riders completed Pan-Mass Challenge Sunday afternoon. About 200 miles over two days. Her CPD team is so proud! We’ll plan assigning her to bike patrol for the rest of the summer.
