Congratulations to 2023 Firefighter of the Year Scott Murphy and Police Officer of the Year Steven Luoma, who were recently recognized by American Legion Post 239 Worthington OH! 🏆 Firefighter Murphy is a U.S. Navy and U.S. Army veteran. The skills he learned in the military as a combat medic have been invaluable in both his work as a paramedic, as a mentor to new firefighters, and as a preceptor of students studying for a career in EMS. “Scott is a great teacher. If you want to learn, he will take all the time in the world to help you understand. I consider this a priceless attribute”, said Fire Chief Mark Zambito. 🏆 Detective Luoma is consistently the lead investigator on the most serious offenses. His strong work ethic and high standard of personal integrity are evident in all of his duties and obvious to all the victims he serves. "Steve is the go-to person in the organization on any complex investigation. We’re excited to welcome The Matts to the City of Worthington team! 👏 They may share the same first name, but there are a lot of differences in our new Service employees Matt Jones (left) and Matt Foulk (right). Matt Jones comes to Worthington with over 20 years of experience working with the Service Department of Upper Arlington. Matt enjoys spending his free time going to his kids' sporting events. When he isn’t there you can find him hunting and fishing. Matt Foulk brings his experience working with the grounds crew at Worthington Schools. He has two adorable puppies at home, Lucy and Jagger.
