Known as The City Beautiful, Coral Gables stands out as a planned community that blends color, details, and the Mediterranean Revival architectural style. Coral Gables is a major employment center, with almost as many people working in the City as living there. The Coral Gables economy is comprised of local and international businesses, but unlike other parts of Florida, it is not influenced as strongly by seasonal shifts. The City is especially desirable to businesses because of its proximity to Miami International Airport, the Port of Miami, and downtown Miami, while also being convenient for executive housing. In addition, a vintage style trolley connects many of the commercial districts, Grand Avenue and the Metrorail. The City has a strong offering of banking, investment institutions, health care, and professional services, as well as being the international headquarters for Bacardi and Del Monte Fresh Produce. The University of Miami (UM) is also located in Coral Gables, and is the City's largest employer. UM, a research university, is ranked 50th among the nations top-tier institutions in the U.S. News & World Report ratings of "America's Best Colleges." Also located within the City is Northwestern University's prestigious Kellogg School of Management Executive MBA Program. Coral Gables' lower schools offer strong academic and international programs including an international baccalaureate program at Coral Gables Senior High and at Gulliver Preparatory School. The City provides excellent municipal services, including an accredited Police Department, as well as a Class 1 Fire Department and a Class 1 Building Division. In addition, Coral Gables has been named a Tree City USA for the last 31 consecutive years, and selected as a Playful City USA for eight years in a row. Excellent municipal services, high quality of life, convenient access, responsible growth and a diversified economy make Coral Gables a highly desirable place to live, work and play.

Team FIFA World Cup 2026 is more than two hundred strong and counting! They are charged with organizing the largest, most inclusive sporting event. The 23rd edition of the quadrennial international men’s soccer championship will bring together 48 national teams from around the globe to play 104 matches in 16 host cities, across Canada, Mexico and the United States, including Miami. It will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. “Miami is a thriving hub of football given its central location in the Americas, international appeal and convenient travel – so it makes sense for our team to be based here as we organize the FIFA World Cup 2026 throughout North America, in collaboration with our colleagues in Canada and Mexico,” said Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer World Cup. “In addition, by locating our '26 headquarters in Coral Gables, our team members, colleagues and guests can enjoy Coral Gables' great downtown area and wide variety of fantastic restaurants and hotels.” #LaborDay #GablesWorkforce #CommunitySpotlight

The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and the City of Coral Gables were both founded in 1925 by George Merrick. Today the chamber is a thriving organization representing more than 1,600 businesses with the goal of expanding the local economy and advocating for a robust business climate. A key player in helping the chamber fulfill its mission is Devin Wade, chief of staff to President & CEO Mark Trowbridge. He labors to keep the CEO, chamber committees, events and volunteers organized. And he does it with a smile. “I love working at the chamber. We are so fortunate to have a robust membership and it’s great to work with them to build an even stronger business community,” said Wade. He has been with the organization since 2022. One of the things he loves about Coral Gables is being able to use mass transit to commute to and from work. Wade rides the Metrorail to Douglas Station and then transfers to the Coral Gables Trolley which leaves him footsteps from the chamber’s office on Alhambra. #LaborDay #GablesWorkforce #CommunitySpotlight
