Welcome to the official LinkedIn account for the City of Fernley, Nevada. Fernley was established as a township in the 1930's with the Lyon County Board of Commissioners as the governing body for Fernley. In 1985, the citizens installed a self-governing town board separate from the Lyon County Board of Commissioners. On July 1, 2001, Fernley incorporated as a city and assumed additional functions. The City of Fernley was formed as a general law City as allowed under Nevada State Law. Located approximately 35 miles east of the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area, The City of Fernley offers a small-town lifestyle with an active growing community of 23,000+ residents.     In case you missed it during the last City Council meeting on the 17th, the water attorney for the City of Fernley will be presenting on the proposed TCID assessment again this evening, July 25, for the general public to hear. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm at the Ranch at Desert Lakes in Fernley. Fernley residents are highly encouraged to stay informed ahead of the August 2nd TCID hearing in Fallon.

    Come out and join the Lyon County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, August 6th, at the Out-of-Town Park from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, to celebrate #NationalNightOut. This annual event fosters community-building by promoting partnerships between the police and the community, enhancing the camaraderie in our neighborhoods to create safer, more nurturing environments to live in. The entire family is welcome to enjoy resources, games, entertainment, and complimentary hot dogs! We're looking forward to seeing you there!

    The City of Fernley is teaming up with volunteers from The Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon/Storey Counties to clean up Picetti Park on July 24th. We will be planting roses, painting the gazebo, and adding benches. The first of a series of City park clean ups to come.

The hours for this Special Election will be as follows: 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 Saturday, July 20 from 9am to 1pm. 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 Monday, July 22 from 9am to 1pm.     On June 17, 2024, the Fernley Convention and Tourism Authority convened to award the first round of transient lodging tax funded grants to ten local special events, totaling a record amount of $73,000. These ten events are scheduled to take place from July to December 2024. Please read our press release for more information.
