What a fun event that enhanced the holiday season with our amazing partner, Civic Heart Community Services!
Gift of Giving: Our team had the opportunity to spread joy and make a difference this weekend while volunteering at the 19th annual Civic Heart Community Services Gift of Giving event! More than 65 children received toys and gift cards sponsored by Primary Services and the community while playing games, decorating cookies, and of course, meeting Santa! Every year, our hearts are touched as we bring the magic of the season to families in need who are working toward a brighter future. Thank you, Civic Heart, for empowering the community with life-changing programs and inviting our team to make a positive impact bringing cheer to our neighbors! #volunteering #partnership #holidaycheer #santa

"The decision to relocate Civic Heart headquarters in June to One Emancipation Center was an easy one. Outgrowing our Elgin Street home of 18 years made the move necessary. But, like a beacon of possibility, it was the opportunity — to create purpose-designed spaces to conduct our growing client services from new and beautiful spaces overlooking the community we serve alongside like-minded, driven individuals and organizations — that called us to this longtime history-making site. We signed a 10-year lease for 13,028 square feet at 3131 Emancipation Avenue that allows us to remain in the historic Third Ward, overlooking Houston’s oldest park, founded by former enslaved people in 1872 as a gathering space to annually celebrate emancipation from enslavement." Last Week A Heartfelt Homecoming was hosted by Civic Heart Community Services (formerly Change Happens!) to announce our new office location. We have officially moved to 3131 Emancipation Ave. , Suite 400. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony, a tour of our new facilities, entertainment featuring the Texas Southern University Jazz Band, and refreshments provided by Pearlfect and Chef Feleshia Hughes with Cater 2 U. Program guests included Civic Heart board members Carl Kidd and Vanessa Reed; Dr. Kenneth Stroman, Pastor of Christian Hope Baptist Church; and the Honorable Garnet Coleman. Civic Heart has a new location, but our mission remains the same, “to help people empower themselves.” Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. #civicheart #houston #thirdward #nonprofit #empower #heart #love #ribboncutting #newbeginnings #newlocation #emancipation #downtown #happy #events #donate #community Ward Vanessa Reed, SVP, Sineria Ordóñez, Keith E.
