Our hearts were warmed by a visit from Dallas Pets Alive! (DPA) and their furry ambassadors, Kami and Lunchbox! Executive Director Leslie Sans shared how DPA is transforming lives through innovative animal rescue programs stating, "Our mission is twofold: reactive rescue, pulling animals out of shelters, and proactive rescue, keeping them in their homes where they belong." With over 31,000 animals and families helped, their impact in North Texas is profound. CFT has supported DPA's innovative efforts with $110,000 in grant funding since 2017, and we're proud to contribute an additional $1,000 towards their North Texas Giving Day goal as a thank you for sharing their care with our staff. Today is National Veterans and First Responders Day, and we’re extending deep gratitude for our veterans and first responders for their sacrifice and service to protect our community.   CFT’s Calvert Collins-Bratton was on-air this morning with KDFW-TV FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth Good Day Saturday and Dan Godwin to highlight our support of local nonprofits serving veterans and first responders.   Calvert highlighted two nonprofits participating in #NorthTexasGivingDay that we’ve granted to, Patriot PAWS Service Dogs and Veterans Center of North Texas (VCONT). She also shared the impact of our Support for Allen Fund, that provided grants in the wake of the tragic shooting in Allen to LifePath Systems, Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute’s Texas Blue Chip program, Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County supported the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute in expanding the Texas Blue Chip Program, a groundbreaking initiative that offers North Texas law enforcement officers free and confidential mental health services.   Learn about the Texas Blue Chip Program at: CFTexas.org/BlueChip and visit NorthTexasGivingDay.org and search by “veterans” in the search filter to see local nonprofits you can give to.
