Über uns

Since being established by Washington County, Oregon in 2003, The Community Housing Fund (CHF) has originated over $11 million in loans and leveraged over $550 million while supporting development of over 2,400 affordable homes in the county. CHF - OUR HISTORY: As a revolving loan fund, CHF helps seed one new affordable housing project after another to expand housing access and equity for those in need. As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), CHF works largely with statewide and local nonprofit housing developers, leveraging relationships to provide access to low cost financing for land acquisition, pre development costs, and affordable housing construction, preservation and homeownership. Over the last decade, in achieving CDFI certification, CHF garnered funding from US Treasury and local foundations to help expand our capacity, our loan pool, range of loan offerings and mission impacts. Most recently, CHF formed a partnership, called Advancing Cities, with Craft3 and Network for Oregon Affordable Housing (NOAH) with support from JP Morgan Chase. together, the organizations harness their loan capacity and local partnerships to prevent displacement and address housing equity along Washington County's SW Corridor. CHF also formed partnerships with Unite Oregon and HomePlate Youth Services to provide housing education and leadership training, to bring more diverse voices and lived experience to the decision-making bodies that impact housing.

Honored to be among many partners gathered today with the City of Tigard and Northwest Housing Alternatives to celebrate the opening of Alongside senior Housing - a beautiful example of collective efforts to expand affordable homes for seniors in Tigard!

Today we celebrated the Grand Opening of Alongside Senior Apartments in Tigard! Situated on City of Tigard land next to Tigard Senior Center and Fanno Creek natural area, Alongside is a state-of-the-art housing community that will provide 57 affordable homes to seniors. It dedicates 40% of its units to serving extremely low-income residents, income at 30% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI) with federal project based rental assistance. The remaining 60% will serve very low-income residents, earning less than 60% of AMI, with an additional rent buydown by using a state tax credit. The project, developed by Northwest Housing Alternatives (NHA) and designed by SERA Architects, was constructed by Walsh Construction Co. with a sustainable Earth Advantage Multifamily Certification. Built with a focus on walkability and public transportation, it is located within walking distance of TriMet, Tigard Public Library and Universal Plaza. We are so excited to provide more affordable housing for seniors in Tigard! Thanks to all those who supported this project and attended the Grand Opening.

Grateful OCF and CDFI colleagues for your important education and advocacy on behalf of Oregon’s CDFIs - furthering our efforts to harness and distribute capital for social justice and impact

The OCF team was proud to spend time on Capitol Hill this week sharing the impact and catalytic power of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) with members of Congress. CDFIs offer capital with purpose. They provide the funds needed to support small businesses and build housing. OCF supports CDFIs like Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon (MESO), Craft3, CASA of Oregon and Network for Oregon Affordable Housing through the Oregon Impact Fund.
