Cement was an early target for positively impacting scope 3 emissions, starting with the adoption of CarbonCure Technologies' concrete in 2020 and, shortly after, on-site batch plants and ConcreteAI. It’s great to see these efforts making waves. Here’s to continuing the journey towards greener construction.

Concrete Gains for Data Centers: Concrete production accounts for about 11% of global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Infrastructure Masons. And data center construction uses LOTS of concrete. That's why the Open Compute Project Foundation is working with Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft to test and deploy concrete formulations that can slash the carbon impact of new data centers. Microsoft, Meta and Compass Datacenters have all worked with low-carbon concrete, and the OCP effort seeks to scale its adoption.
