Costco IT's Compliance department is looking for a new Security Engineer in Vulnerability Management to join the team! The Security Engineer in Vulnerability Management is responsible for the successful delivery, design, and support of the vulnerability management program with specific focus on asset identification, vulnerability scanning, scan outputs, reporting, response, assessing and prioritizing vulnerabilities for remediation. Successful applicants will have 5+ years’ experience in security in an enterprise environment and 3+ years’ experience assessing and implementing vulnerability management tools, vulnerability scan configurations, vulnerability reporting, and vulnerability remediation. Costco’s IT & IT Travel came together for the Ragnar NW Passage relay run. What’s something you wish you had known early in your career? “I've learned that you don’t have to have all the answers. Surrounding yourself with great team members and smart people provides such an advantage to capturing many different perspectives. Costco has so many great people who work here with varying experiences and viewpoints. It’s truly one of the company’s strongest assets." What do you enjoy most about working at Costco? I just had my 25 year anniversary with Costco and in all of that time, I’ve never been bored. I love Costco as a company and Costco’s mission. I absolutely love the travel industry and all of the complexity and challenges that come with it. It’s a really fun combination that I feel fortunate to be a part of. Being over Costco Travel’s operations in countries outside of the U.S. allows me to really see and experience other cultures and get to know a lot of truly fantastic people.” A bit of Matt’s history: I grew up in a small farming community outside of Yakima, WA and moved to Seattle the year following my high school graduation. I am married to my beautiful wife, Julie (we met at Costco) and together we have two high-energy and crazy little kids that keep us busy and laughing. Twenty-five years ago, I was working at a technology company called WallData, who was the original maker of the software application Rumba. It was when Costco switched their AS400 emulation software from NetManage to WallData Rumba that a friend who worked at Costco corporate reached out and referred me to a position.
