We envision a DC where every child - no matter their family income - experiences the joys of childhood: sports, arts, service, and being part of a team. Where every child - no matter their family circumstances - is empowered to find academic success and grow into an emotionally and physically healthy teen and adult. Where every neighborhood supports and celebrates its children and their accomplishments on and off the playing field.

Anyone can be a poet-athlete, as Arsenal Women's team players and first-team coaches discovered when they joined our Bancroft Elementary team for the afternoon! Thank you, Arsenal WFC, for creating this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for D.C. kids!
⚽ 𝑭𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒙 𝑷𝒐𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒙 𝑨𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒍 ✍ We teamed up with DC SCORES to coach poet-athletes from our D.C. community on our women's team's first ever US tour, bringing football and poetry together to celebrate creativity, expression, and inclusion. Our very own poet-athlete, Lotte Wubben-Moy, joined the session alongside Alessia Russo and Emily Fox. In 2022, Lotte set up our own arts programme for young girls in our community, Time To Explore, which gives young girls a space to express themselves away from the pitch and the classroom. A leader on and off the field! 🫡 Things got emotional in the D.C. United Junior Supporters section at Audi Field on Saturday as the DC SCORES community joined the Black and Red for Steven Birnbaum's retirement game. A supporter of DC SCORES since he joined United, Steven has been a tireless champion of work in the DMV, most recently as a board member. He has raised our profile among soccer fans, served as a host for our biggest-ever fundraiser, and brought smiles to thousands of poet-athletes' faces by showing them that they have the support of the best in the game. Thank you for everything, Steven — we can't wait to see what's next for you! 🖤❤️
