One of our amazing clients is hiring! This is a Junior Position in the Trade Show Management and Sponsorship realm and needs to be Baltimore based. If you are in the industry and know someone that meets the qualifications, please DM me and I will pass along the info. Role Summary   Contributes to planning, management, and execution of assigned elements of internal/external sponsorship events in alignment with organizational policy and quality standards. May lead sponsorship events that are moderately complex in nature. Provides guidance on event marketing tactics and the use of engagement tools to enhance the client experience and drive data. Continues to develop industry experience and may contribute to the development of the event planning and management strategy for the client segment/subregion. Does your organization or team plan large-scale, city-wide or high volume events? We have our eyes on the COPA America fallout to see where this will go. So far this week, three separate lawsuits have been filed against Hard Rock Stadium, CONMEBOL (South American soccer’s governing body and tournament organizer) as well as Best Crowd Management (security). This is being considered as a class as well and we fully expect this to become a class action lawsuit. The details state that the organizers failed to implement an adequate and reasonable security and safety plan, including a lack of security staff necessary for the crowds, not having an adequate perimeter for screening/checking tickets, and failing to predict the size of un-ticketed crowds. Unless you have been out of town for the 4th or under a rock, you know that this week is the 75th Anniversary NATO Summit. This event is centered at the Walter E. Washington DC Convention Center, as well as the Andrew W Mellon Auditorium and The White House. We have been seeing the anti-scale fence and road closures starting this weekend and dignataries are arriving, dining and moving all over the city. Look out for delays starting now and especially during the event this Tuesday - Thursday. Some handy information is attached below about road closures if you venture downtown. If you are from DC or plan events in the city, this has become a must-watch property for a LOT of reasons. The Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts DC property (yes, THAT property) is back on the auction block. Our eyes are on the second attempt at a sale on the 5th of August. Our events at the site have been fantastic and the hotel and staff is continuing operations while the financing is being worked out. I think the vision, detail and design touches of the GM Senih Geray is spot on and this property can still be a statement piece in the city. However, with 263 rooms that command a premium price and limited ballroom space for events, the financials may not be there for large events that will buy out the hotel and provide F&B revenue needed for long term viability. If this is the first time hearing about it, the basics are that CGI purchased the lease on the property from the Trump Org. for $375 million in May 2022 and rebranded as the Waldorf. They then defaulted on about $250 million around May of 2024.
