Delta Sigma Phi is a men's fraternity with active chapters in 33 states of the USA. Founded at the City College of New York in 1899, Delta Sigma Phi was the first men's fraternity to initiate men of a variety of religious and ethnic backgrounds. The tradition of breaking cultural norms continued: Delta Sigma Phi was one of the first organizations to ban 'hell week,' one of the first to develop a new member manual, the first fraternity to establish an all-deaf chapter, and the first (and only) organization to incorporate a Statement on Human Dignity into its governing documents, banning discrimination in regard to HIV and AIDS. More than 120,000 men have initiated into Delta Sigma Phi and 111 undergraduate chapters are active today. The Fraternity supports the American Red Cross on a national level, and in 2015 became the first fraternity or sorority to offer a comprehensive mentorship platform to all members. Among the Fraternity's current initiatives are those to grow to 10,000 undergraduate members, to provide education & training to 100% of undergraduate members, and to be the largest single contributor of pints of blood, volunteer hours and philanthropic dollars to the American Red Cross by 2025 (a part of the Fraternity's Vision 2025 strategic plan) For more information, email [email protected].
