It is with deep sadness we share the news of the passing of one of the stalwarts of the boiler industry, Bob Shell, who retired from Delval Equipment in late 2022.
Bob was in the boiler industry for nearly 60 years. He started his career in field service, and spent some time as a Technician for Todd Burner. Bob's finished his career at Delval with 27 years in Capital Equipment Sales.
Bob was an avid hockey fan, but his greatest passion was spending time with his family. Bob also loved being part of the boiler industry and the great experiences and fellowship with his coworkers & friends at Delval, Cleaver-Brooks and throughout the Representative network and boiler industry.
Bob was one of those who made very solid contributions to both Delval and Cleaver Brooks over many years. He had “blue in his veins” as a never-ending proponent of all-things Cleaver-Brooks. He also could not resist his service technician roots and therefore always had a hand partially in the aftermarket side of things. In fact, as recently as three years ago, in his late 70’s, Bob and another recent Delval retiree, Don Gerber (aftermarket sales), were out making a sales call at an old client. They noticed the boiler was badly out-of-tune and couldn’t resist tweaking the linkage a bit, but that was the Bob we all knew and respected.
We will all fondly remember Bob for his easy-going smile, positive attitude, reliability, sense of humor and commitment to family, friends & coworkers. Bob will be greatly missed by us all.
Our thoughts go out to “Bobbie” his wife of 57 years, their three sons, and the entire Shell family.
