Christina, a 15-year ED RN at Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center and a psychiatric nurse practitioner recognized local teens' mental health struggles. During her Ph.D. at ASU, she discovered the Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) program, which trains teens to identify and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. In 2022, she piloted this program with nine 11th graders at Chandler Unified School District, receiving enthusiastic feedback. The District plans to expand the program to all 11th graders in the 2024-2025 school year. Christina continues to offer these classes alongside her nursing duties. Recently, a fellow employee honored her as a Guardian Angel, celebrated with a billboard display. 😇 Kudos to Christina for her significant impact on teen mental health! 🎉🌟 Read more about Christina's work: https://ow.ly/9TsG50Sz2uu #EmployeeSpotlight #MentalHealthAwareness #DignityHealth
