As we say time and time again here at Domus Kids, as a nonprofit and as a community, we can achieve an amplified level of sustainable success through strategic partnerships. #bettertogether Case in point: #DomusWorks, our work readiness program, has an incredible coworking partnership with Western Connecticut State University through which our program participants learn valuable real-world skills - and get paid for it, too - while preparing dorms, including cleaning, painting, moving furniture, and more, for incoming students. How’d we do this past year? Not only did our participants deliver on time, as promised, and at a significant cost savings, but the amazing folks at West Conn threw us an end-of-year BBQ to celebrate! How cool is that?! 😎🎉 Of course, our own Mike Duggan, Tom Langan, and Mitch DePino were on hand – there was food! But we also enjoyed the company of WCSU President, Dr. Manohar Singh, along with several faculty and Domus Board members, who each took a moment to thank our crew. Other special guests included Commissioner of the CT Department of Labor, Danté Bartolomeo, along with the Deputy Commissioner, Mark Polzella. THANK YOU for the food, fun, and kind words. I know we had a blast, both doing the work on campus as well as celebrating our partnership!
