Complete the background check forms. 2. Attach a copy of your current driver's license and social security card. 3. Submit these documents along with the completed volunteer request form to Mrs. Kelly Dorsey in our main office. 4. Remember to include the $10 fee for the background check with your submission. 📅 It is recommended that completed volunteer/field trip chaperone forms be turned in as soon as possible for Board approval. Exciting News! - East Columbus Jr-Sr High School is thrilled to announce that we are the only school in Columbus County participating in a groundbreaking new program designed to create job opportunities in the rapidly expanding drone industry! Through a unique partnership between the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and Zipline, the world’s largest autonomous delivery service, our students will have the chance to embark on a dynamic career in Uncrewed Ariel Systems (UAS). This innovative pathway program, launching in the 2024-25 school year, will prepare our students for professional UAS careers at Zipline. Students will delve into the fundamentals of drones, legal requirements, simulations, drone flight training, mapping, and more. Upon successful completion of the program, qualifying students are guaranteed an interview with Zipline, opening doors to exciting aviation opportunities right after graduation. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing top-notch Career and Technical Education (CTE) and equipping our students with the skills needed for successful and fulfilling careers. As Trey Michael, NCDPI’s Director of CTE, said, "This partnership prepares students for a viable career after graduation in a field that is rapidly expanding globally."
