Happy Birthday, Dread! 🎉🦕 10 years ago today, Dr. Kenneth Lacovara uncovered his most epic paleontological discovery Dreadnoughtus schrani in Patagonia, Argentina. Name meaning, “fears nothing”, this titanosaurian sauropod is estimated to have been roughly 85 feet long with a mass of 65 tons - making it one of the largest land animals ever discovered! Anyone know where to get a 20 ton birthday cake? 🎂 #rowanuniversity #edelmanfossilparkmuseum #dinosaur #paleontology #discoverthepastprotectthefuture #dinosaurs #dreadnoughtus

What would New Jersey look like 66 million years ago? 🤔 Well, for one thing, most of it would be underwater. But what would our Cretaceous coastline look like? To celebrate National Garden Week, we want to highlight some of the native plants that fill our Cretaceous Garden at EFM. All the plants in our Cretaceous Garden have an ancestor that was native to this area 66 million years ago, such as: 🌿 Sweetbay Magnolia 🌿 American Sycamore 🌿 Sassafras 🌿 Christmas Fern Happy National Garden Week! #rowanuniversity #edelmanfossilparkmuseum #dinosaur #DinosaurPaleontology #Prehistoric #nationalgardenweek

Happy #NationalDinosaurDay from Edelman Fossil Park & Museum! Did you know the first-ever Tyrannosaur discovered, the Dryptosaurus, was discovered in southern New Jersey in 1866 only a mile from our Fossil Park? Southern New Jersey has an extremely rich heritage in the paleontology world, making it a HOT SPOT for digging up fossils! The Edelman Fossil Park & Museum will be opening in 2024 🦖🦕 #rowanuniversity #edelmanfossilparkmuseum #kennethlacovara #dinosaur #DinosaurPaleontology #Prehistoric
