Today marks the 61st anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington. There, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, calling for an end to racism and the realization of equality and justice for all. Embrace Boston joins the world in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 's sacrifices, which continues to inspire our work to dismantle structural racism through the intersection of arts and culture, community, and research and policy. We invite Boston natives to celebrate the March by visiting The Embrace Memorial; embracing each other in love and solidarity under the arms of Rev. Dr. King Jr. and Coretta Scott King and the other 69 honorees located on the 1965 Freedom Plaza as we commemorate but continue to highlight the fight still ahead for equality.
