The host cities of each of our Olympics have always spearheaded digital transformation and new use cases for innovative technology. This year's Olympics in Paris was no exception. The disruptive technology used to document and record high speeds marked a new era in sports that will be built upon in the future. Much like any product lifecycle/launch, the preparation begins years in advance. As we prepare for the 2028 Olympics in our backyard (Los Angeles), we know that many organizations have already begun their technological journeys to go-live in 2028. We're eager to see the continued (and new) use of AI, the new applications for disruptive tech and all of the planning involved to get us there in a way that provides memorable experiences for the athletes, the spectators and the many visitors. It’s one thing to set a company vision on paper. It’s another to see it lived in 3D.   If you’ve heard any Excelerator talk for long (or read our Culture Playbook), you know that our vision is to create a ripple effect of economic vitality and social prosperity in our communities.   Relationships are foundational to that ripple effect, and we intentionally bring together clients and community members through regular events as one way to bring our vision to life.   Last night's event at the Padres game was one of those impactful moments where we got to see our ripple effect in full force. We are so proud to be able to drive connections, see our clients interact, talk about their work and trade use cases with each other to drive their future success. We apply our expertise to ourselves. Late last year, we published (internally) our Culture Playbook. This product was a labor of love by many Excelerators. It represents years of work to define and live a culture that we believe is unique, real and creates a competitive advantage for us. ➡️ Why Did We Create This? The need for this stemmed from a disconnect between our tagline (Go Faster. Smarter) which represents our value proposition to our clients / the market and how we work together as a team to get work done internally. We had to challenge our internal norms and focus our energy in a way that honored the difficulty of the work we do (transformative) and doing that in alignment to our values (Integrity. Flexibility. Energy. Humility.). ➡️ How Did We Create This? We spent time working through this content with our teams and the majority of the words in this document were created by them - over time and with different purposes. Eventually, we had so many artifacts that spoke to who we are, how we behave, and our culture that we needed to bring it all together. Enter - This Culture Playbook. ➡️ What Results Have We Seen From This? Two proud moments come to mind, which are also reflected in our above average Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) and our client Net Promoter Score (NPS): 1) When we published this to our team, the resounding feedback was pride in the product as well as acknowledgement that it is real - it actually reflects our true culture and 2) We've recently had the fortune of having our clients speak to our team directly about how we show up differently than other firms they work with. The words they've used are echoed in the Excelerate Code in this playbook, which means we're actively delivering on those tenets. ➡️ Why Are We Sharing It? We are proud to showcase it here and share it with you all. We believe there is power in words and we are proud of every one of the words in this document. We deliver a lot of change leadership in the work we do with our clients. We recently saw this video about the initial launch of the ZIP (Zone Improvement Plan) code system in 1963 and it resonated deeply with us and the work we do. The launch of the concept of zip codes (a completely novel idea) that required so much education (of an entire country) and involved so many change management and strategic communications considerations is something we appreciated. Transformations are not easy. Changing behavior is not easy. All transformations require it.
