Last month F.L.Putnam employees from around the country gathered in Massachusetts for a company offsite to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We had the opportunity to connect with our colleagues near and far, participate in some competitive sports, and much more. Thank you to our Toastmasters team for capturing some of the key moments.

Last month Kristen Madden, Managing Director of New Hampshire, had the pleasure of presenting the firm’s annual scholarship to a senior at Kingswood Regional High School in Wolfeboro. Students are judged on a variety of criteria including grades, leadership, volunteerism, demonstrated interest in finance, cover letter and letter of recommendation. This year’s recipient was David Lehmann, an active member of the Kingswood student counsel and Young Investors Society, who will be attending Indiana University this fall. We had the pleasure of having David work in our New Hampshire office this year as part of Kingswood’s work based learning program which is a fantastic opportunity for high school students to prep for college and beyond. #futurefinancialplanner

In her latest monthly #markets report, our Chief Market Strategist and Portfolio Manager Ellen Hazen, CFA looks at the recent rapid increase in private investment opportunities available to HNW and UHNW investors. According to Ellen, “Investors can access not only the higher returns from these funds but access income streams that were previously unattainable. Take for example infrastructure. It is difficult for an individual investor to directly access the regular income stream that a port or toll road provides. This month our Chief Market Strategist and Portfolio Manager Ellen Hazen, CFA looks at the rapid transformation of artificial intelligence and the implications for investing. Per Ellen, trees do not grow to the sky. When a transformation is this rapid, the cone of possible outcomes is much wider than in normal times, and investors’ expectations must be tempered with extra humility. While the near-term impacts have been most visible in the technology sector, we have seen AI-related growth in some industrial companies and real estate investment trusts.
