Our campers were going for gold with an Olympic-themed week at camp🥇 In this action-packed week, we: 🐾 Created mascots to cheer us on! 🎨 Decorated graham cracker flags inspired by the flag displays at opening ceremony. 🥇 Made medals to honor our unique strengths. 😺 Met Holly, the first therapy cat to visit FamilyForward. 🏳️🌈 Designed flags to represent ourselves with personal symbols. 🌈 Enjoyed our classic FamilyForward camp tradition of tie-dying! We had a successful Teen Camp filled with sensory integration activities such as food tasting, mystery boxes for touch, and tie-dying. Our campers worked together to help each other regulate, building meaningful and lasting relationships in the process.💙 The Therapeutic Summer Camp is wrapping up this upcoming week. Meet Fran Waters, DCSW, LMSW, LMFT, an internationally recognized expert in childhood trauma and dissociation. Here are a few fast facts about Fran ⬇️ 👩🏫 She is past President of The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and currently is the co-chair of ISSTD’s Child and Adolescent Committee. 🧠 Fran currently serves as Director of the Child Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Programs. 👏 She sits on a few boards including the Editorial Board of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Trauma and the national Advisory Board of the Leadership Council on Child Abuse and Interpersonal Violence. ✍️ She is the author of Healing the Fractured Child: Diagnosing and Treating Dissociative Youth.
