Each year the Specialty Crops Council - California organizes an educational tour designed for regulators, research scientists, cooperative extension personnel, and representatives from USDA, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Department of Pesticide Regulation, and FDA. This multi-day tour aims to provide an overview of specialty crop production and pest management in California. 💡 Feature Update! Lilliston® cultivation bars can often be found on traditional cultivators in the specialty crop industry. They enable weed removal and soil aeration in the furrows. The shovels will push dirt back to the shoulders of the beds, keeping them nice and clean. In this video, you can see the FarmWise Vulcan precision weeder equipped with Lilliston® bars on each bed extremity. They're a lightweight addition (roughly 150 lbs each) to the existing tooling on the cultivation frame and give growers the option to eliminate one cultivation pass. 💡 Feature Update! In this video, you can see our Vulcan #AI weeder cultivating a cilantro field, in a 3-line 40" configuration, at Ratto Bros., Inc, in Modesto, CA. The tractor is running at 3 mph while the implement tracks the plant line and adjusts laterally with a high degree of precision. Thanks to a simple over-the-air update pushed to the system, we're able to follow the plant lines and weed within 1” precision on each side of the plant line with standard cultivation tooling attached to our lateral shifting frame. Lighting conditions, wavy plant lines, and plant size do not impact the machine performance. This new feature will increase customers' usage of their Vulcan in their 3-line 40” bunched programs (cilantro, parsley, baby kale, and bok choy) which ultimately maximizes their ROI. This feature will see applicability in other high-density plantings such as onions and carrots. 🛠 We have a new plasma cutting table in our fabrication shop!
