This summer, we donated tickets to St. Louis Cardinals games against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, Washington Nationals, and Texas Rangers Baseball Club to local veterans to express our gratitude. Everyone had a great time, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all veterans, including those within our own company, for their service to our country.

Our corporate office recently held a luncheon event to celebrate the retirement of Deb Foppe. Deb worked for Federal Recycling for seven years, in both the customer service and billings department. Congratulations to our Columbus, Denver, Harrisburg, Houston, and St. Louis plants on receiving a 2023 Safety Award! These awards celebrate our facilities that have achieved exemplary safety standards by maintaining zero OSHA recordables for an entire calendar year. Our President & CEO, Sam Still, and VP of Operations, Kendra Kemp, traveled to the plants to present the plant staff, Carilyne Martin and Randy Magee (Columbus), Kyle Palmer (Denver), Alex Orentas (Harrisburg), Kelsey Gonzalez and Jose Hernandez (Houston), and Tony DeCaro (St. Louis), with their awards. A few weeks ago, the Federal Recycling & Waste Solutions corporate office and STL plant, along with team members from Federal International, enjoyed a fun afternoon of team bonding at the Cardinals game. I always enjoy opportunities to connect outside of the office, especially during a Cardinals win!
Last week, our Office Managers from all eight plants came together in St. Louis for our first annual Office Manager’s Conference. While there, we discussed growth strategies, company updates, networked, and celebrated our efforts and achievements with a few rounds of pickleball at Chicken N Pickle. We recently awarded our St. Louis plant with the One Federal Award for Excellence for the 2023 year. This award is given to the plant or business line that most exemplifies our One Federal vision, core values, and shows excellence in profitability, safety, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit. Led by General Manager & Director of Operations, Tony DeCaro, the St. Louis team had a strong financial year with excellent safety performance. The plant staff celebrated this accomplishment with a catered luncheon joined by our executive leadership and owners.
