Last month’s Sun Valley Forum event left us energized and inspired. It wasn’t just a series of talks; it was a gathering of leaders who are actively shaping the future of sustainability. We left with a deeper understanding of the challenges ahead and a renewed sense of purpose in our work. Xiye Bastida, the force behind Re-Earth Initiative, took the stage with a passion for climate justice that transcends generations. Her dedication is more than inspiring; it’s a call to action for us all. Dr. Sylvia Earle, a true legend, chairman of Mission Blue / Sylvia Earle Alliance shared her incredible journey as an oceanographer. Being in the presence of someone who has dedicated her life to protecting our oceans was an absolute honor. A standout moment was the fireside chat with Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr., President & CEO at Hip Hop Caucus and Bill Weir, Chief Climate Correspondent at CNN. Their discussion on the intersection of climate change and culture offered fresh perspectives that we’ll be reflecting on for a while. And then there was Jenna Johnson, President of Patagonia, who spoke on “Going Purpose.” She challenged us all to align our actions with our purpose, showing how environmental stewardship can lead to groundbreaking innovation. Finally, our CEO & Co-Founder, “Raz” (Rich) Razgaitis, took the stage to address the escalating tap water and plastic pollution crisis in America.
