🔍 What’s the significance of the number 1.5? According to Prof. Johan Rockström, Director of the PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Chair of the Frontiers Planet Prize #Juryof100, 1.5°C is arguably the most crucial number for our planet. This figure represents the temperature rise limit above pre-industrial levels beyond which the stability of life on Earth is at severe risk. Curious about how #RenewableEnergy plays a role in staying within this critical limit? Dive into this insightful article by International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to explore our current trajectory and the importance of renewable energy in maintaining the 1.5°C goal. 🌍💡
#RenewableEnergy capacity additions witnessed a record 14% growth rate in 2023. But, are we on track? International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) data signals an off-track trajectory. Achieving #3xRenewables and limiting global temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, requires an annual addition of 1044 GW by 2030. 📈 Learn more from IRENA's tracking page⤵️ https://lnkd.in/d9k6yp_Q
