We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Mike Shepherd to the position of Assistant Plant Manager at our Columbus location. Mike’s dedication, experience, and deep ties to the Columbus community make him the perfect fit for this role. Mike has been a cornerstone of Columbus Brick since 2001. His impressive journey with us began when he successfully started up Plant 2, demonstrating his exceptional skills and commitment. Born and raised in Columbus, Mike’s local roots run deep, and his passion for our community is evident in all that he does. Mike holds a degree in Business from Mississippi State University.
His diverse professional background includes significant roles at Eka Chemicals, where he worked with sodium chlorate, and at a bottling plant, where he managed environmental issues. His career began in his father's auto electric shop, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a love for working with his hands. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mike is a proud family man. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been happily married for 37 years. They have two wonderful children, Tyler and Erica, and three delightful grandchildren: Preston (6), Logan (3), and Bailey (19 months), with a fourth grandchild on the way. Outside of work, Mike enjoys hunting, fishing, and the excitement of dirt track racing. His love for the outdoors and hands-on hobbies reflect his energetic and adventurous spirit.
