It’s official, today marks my last day as an Engineering Intern at W.L. Gore & Associates. This experience has been remarkable and one for the books! First, I would like to extend my gratitude to W. L. Gore & Associates for making this experience possible. I have relished my time here in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s been an honor to learn from such heartfelt and talented individuals. Throughout this experience, I have been able to foster new connections across the enterprise and, get a taste of Arizona. Last but not least, I would like to give thanks to leader, Phil Crompton, for helping me soar to new heights as well as my entire team. I thank you all for taking the time to help me grow my knowledge and navigate my internship this summer. If there is one thing I would tell anyone seeking to be an intern, it’s to “be intentional”! Being intentional about your work and communication efforts can help mitigate any shortcoming in the future. For me, this looked like creating an Excel sheet of what I’m struggling on, what I have completed and, what I hope to do with my time at the company to share with my leader and I. Being intentional with my goals and desires, along with what is expected of me set me up for success along this journey. With that being said, I am so elated to be able to be apart of this year’s engineering intern cohort. I look forward to continuing to foster the connections I’ve made, and witnessing the success of all the interns I’ve met this summer.
