Piper Sandler is excited to continue our partnership with the Greenwood Project, a Chicago-based nonprofit that introduces Black and Latino high school and college students from underserved communities to careers in financial services. This summer, we welcomed students for six weeks in our Chicago, Minneapolis and New York offices as they gained exposure to the industry and learned about our business lines and various career paths. Kwesi Smith, Greenwood Project CEO and the scholars were recently invited to ring the NYSE opening bell and interviewed to bring more awareness to the organization. At Greenwood Project, we are dedicated to introducing Black and Latino college students to finance, aiming to bring more diversity to Wall Street. CEO Kwesi Smith, CFA shared, "We have a lot of Scholars who are bright, who are brilliant, who are driven, but they never consider Wall Street as an opportunity, so we really try to step in to help Scholars understand this is a real opportunity for them."
