It's a wrap! This past weekend, we hosted Glamp, a brand-new fundraiser for our council. Together with our Glampers, we tapped into our inner child, connected to our sense of adventure, and developed an incredible community of women who care about the future of girls in Southern Arizona. This weekend was possible due to our community partners, who took a leap of faith in a new event and took a firm stance to invest in our work to uplift girls. Many, many thanks to Casino Del Sol Resort, Tucson Medical Center, and Truly Nolen of America, Inc. for the laughs and memories this weekend! Girl Scouts explored the exciting world of healthcare education at University of Arizona's Simulation Technology & Education Center. 👩⚕️ They saw a behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge technology, used surgical training instruments, experienced lifelike scenarios to train healthcare professionals, made their own suture molds, and toured the facility that works with Grey's Anatomy! What a proud moment for us to share! These inspiring collegiate Girl Scouts graduated from U of A—we are beaming with pride and joy at their phenomenal accomplishments! Mary Ruiz was a Top Cookie Seller for several years. She was also highlighted in the New York Times for her incredible entrepreneurial skills and is now graduating with honors and is double majoring in Law and Spanish, with a minor in music. No limits for you, Mary! (pictured in McKale) Kaya Glasner —always active and engaged with a creative talent like NO other—is graduating Summa Cum Laude and is headed off to UCLA for their animation workshop where she was 1 of 12 selected WORLDWIDE. Get it, Kata!! (pictured with Kristen, Niki, and her mother) Erika Yee a Camp Fury grad—with her Camp Fury knowledge, she saved a high school classmate’s life with CCO CPR! Erika is also a Gold Award Girl Scout with CCO CPR training for high school students and is now a DOCTOR! Congrats, Erika Yee, MD! Cheers to the Girl Scouts of Troop 312 for their Bronze Award! 🏅 Troop 312 worked together to develop three sensory walks at Miller Elementary School to engage their preschoolers in the outdoors while providing hands-on educational elements. The sensory walks included opportunities for preschoolers to develop fine and gross motor skills, learn their alphabet and numbers, feel textures, and walk on different surfaces beneath their feet. #girlscouts #bronzeaward #communityservice #sensoryengagement #gssoaz
