The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has executed the cooperative agreement to award $30 million to the Appalachian Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub (ARCH2)!     As a key partner in ARCH2, we are proud to bring our hydrogen technology expertise and commitment to communities to help grow the hydrogen economy in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.     Through this investment from the DOE Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations and collaboration with partners Battelle, Allegheny Science & Technology, and TRC Companies, Inc., ARCH2 will drive economic and environmental prosperity and create thousands of well-paying jobs in the Appalachian region.       Let’s get started!  https://lnkd.in/d3tKHNE5   #HydrogenHub #H2Hub #HydrogenEconomy #CleanEnergy 

UTD is driving the future of transportation fuel with low-carbon hydrogen. Hydrogen is emerging as a pivotal energy carrier for low-carbon, sustainable transportation. When burned, hydrogen only emits water vapor and heat, offering substantial benefits that align with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions. UTD’s research focus includes developing more efficient and economical hydrogen fueling techniques for heavy-duty trucks and maximizing the effective use of on-board storage volumes —aiming to lower the life-cycle costs of hydrogen fueling. These advancements are crucial for enhancing the performance and reliability of hydrogen vehicles and accelerating market transformation. Hydrogen is NOT a greenhouse gas. However, when hydrogen interacts with other species in the atmosphere, it can have indirect warming effects.     Hydrogen emission uncertainty is a critical issue, with data showing variability from 0.3% to 33% per kilogram moved. This means from nearly zero to up to a third of hydrogen could be lost to the atmosphere!
