The Haven family is heartbroken to share that Mary Rose Brown, Haven’s Board Secretary, passed away Friday at her home surrounded by her family. Mary Rose was instrumental in the opening of Haven working alongside Mr. Greehey and a force at Haven that brought unconditional love, awareness, and incredible support over the years. The impact and legacy she had on Haven for Hope cannot be overstated as she gave her time, talent, and treasure to ensure the clients we serve had everything they needed to address the root cause of their trauma. We were honored to recently show Mary Rose our appreciation when we renamed Haven's Chapel, The Mary Rose Brown Chapel of Hope. Mary Rose will be greatly missed in our community and our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time.

We are grateful to the volunteers from the Community Bible Church (CBC) who have embodied the spirit of giving back to our community. LoveSATX, a volunteer-driven ministry initiative is aimed at supporting the community of San Antonio through public service and volunteerism. During their time at Haven, CBC volunteers have taken on the task of cleaning and sanitizing our South Campus mats. They have also taken the time to understand more about the mission of Haven for Hope and how we cater to those experiencing homelessness.
