Affordable, Verified DAC.

Über uns

Heimdal builds machines that permanently capture and store atmospheric CO2. Congress has passed legislation (IRA) guaranteeing a price of $180/tCO2 removed via Direct Air Capture until 2032. We are building technology that profitably captures CO2 with this tax credit, right here in the United States.

I was pleased to meet Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond from the Office of the Oklahoma Attorney General recently. We discussed CLass VI well permitting and primacy for the State of Oklahoma, as well as Heimdal plans for DAC facilities in the State, with the launch of Bantam, as well as our expansion plans. It's clear direct air capture (DAC) and carbon management broadly has an ambitious future and home in Oklahoma.

We are proud to unveil, BANTAM, our first DAC facility! After ~13 months of development and thousands of hours of onsite construction and preparation in Oklahoma, we are proud to announce the completed construction and launch of Bantam. Bantam has the capacity to remove more than 5000 tons of CO2 per year from the air, making it the current largest DAC facility in America and second largest facility in the world. All-in 💵 cost is lower, 🚧 construction was faster, and scale is larger than anyone thought possible. Heimdal has officially stepped into the ring 🥊. On Tuesday we celebrated our “ribbon cutting” by pouring our first batch of sorbent granules onto our prepared fields with a quorum of partners, industry experts, local and state leaders and elected officials, Osage and Kaw Nation attendees, and more. Our enormous gratitude to everyone who came and participated in our event, including (but certainly not limited to): - Deputy Secretary of Energy Scott Mason and Deputy Secretary of Environment Victoria Tran from Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, who helped us pour the first batch of sorbent, ready to collect CO2. - CapturePoint LLC Chief Development Officer Cole Wright, Oklahoma State Senator Bill Coleman, and Oklahoma State Representative Jim Grego for thoughtful and poignant in-person remarks alongside our CEO Marcus Lima and CTO Chris Mitchell. - White House Senior Advisor to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation John Podesta, Senator Markwayne Mullin, Congressman Frank Lucas, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell, Oklahoma House Democratic Leader Cyndi A. Munson, M.S., and Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives Charles McCall III, for video remarks and support. - Oklahoma Congressional Officials Grant Green, Dave Rader , Eric Roberts, Nick Archer, John Waldron, Dana Prieto, Suzanne Schreiber, and Mark Tedford for joining us in person for the celebration. - Attendees and leaders from Osage Nation, Kaw Nation, Ponca City, and Shidler for welcoming us to the state and region and for engaging with us on this exciting journey. - All of the partners who helped make Bantam possible to date; apologies for not naming everyone, there are too many for one post! Our immense gratitude as well to our partner, CapturePoint LLC, for their consistent and essential support in constructing Bantam and helping plan and execute our successful launch. This is only the beginning of our journey…now we actually have to capture some carbon! But we are in a unique position: we are ready to go, right now. Press Release: https://lnkd.in/g4Mfzm-J

The week of July 4th was busy for our team in Oklahoma! The engineers have been focused and the site is looking incredible. Everyone managed to take time to appreciate the beauty of the countryside, see some fireworks in #PoncaCity, celebrate the birth of the country, and appreciate the United States' leadership through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in supporting the development of carbon capture technologies. We are proud of the work that's been accomplished so far on Project Bantam, and we are thankful for our hard-working team of onsite engineers. Bantam will begin carbon capture operations this summer! Upon launch, it is poised to be the largest operating DAC facility in the US. Interested to learn more about our affordable process for large-scale carbon removal and permanent storage? The system for regenerating our CO2-capturing sorbent material at #ProjectBantam is looking gorgeous! 💚 Heimdal's technology takes all-natural limestone 🪨 and unlocks its ability to capture CO2 from the atmosphere ☁. Once filled with CO2, the material is collected and brought to the kiln shown here for heating 🔥. That heat releases the CO2 from the limestone as a concentrated gas, ready to be sent to our partners for permanent storage. 📦 We cannot wait to see it in action at our first facility! Project Bantam is set to be the second largest operational DAC facility in the world 🌎, launching this summer! Want to learn more about our process or first DAC facility? 🤝 We are thrilled to be collaborating with and learning from Black & Veatch to help optimize and scale our DAC technology with their #IgniteX Carbon Dioxide Removal Program! 📐 Working with experts who have shown a track record of success in sustainability infrastructure will ensure we remain on pace to transition quickly from Project Bantam (launching this summer!) to our next phase of scale-up. Thanks to all who helped get us here! We look forward to hearing back from our CTO Chris Mitchell, who is in-person getting us started. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/eTQbyntH
