Earlier this month, we had the absolute pleasure of creating and hosting Yahoo's inaugural #IndustryBreakers Leadership Program! We welcomed just under 30 talented students from Hampton University + other talent partnerships to our New York office for two days of learning, networking, and exploring the exciting world of media and tech. With backgrounds and interests in #Cybersecurity, #SoftwareEngineering, #Marketing, and #Editorial, these students certainly brought energy, passion, and enthusiasm into our space! It was inspiring to see them engage with our team of professionals and hear their real-time ideas and solutions to some of our industry's greatest challenges. This program is another step on the path to breaking down barriers to entry (hence the name 😉) for emerging talent in our industry and creating real opportunities for development and professional growth. Emerging career initiatives like this are key to building a more inclusive and dynamic industry. In closing, I must give a huge shoutout to my incredible Yahoo #EmergingCareers team and our partners in the #DEIC and #ERG communities for bringing this program to life—in record time! The HelloFinance conference hosted by hellohive and powered by the Equity Collective was an amazing experience. I was able to develop a deeper understanding of the different branches of finance, speak to many industry experts, hone interview and resume skills, and overall increase my knowledge of the financial industry which is what I strive to do as much as possible.
