In just three years, HumanKind has seen a staggering 300% increase in the number of families utilizing The Inn, HumanKind's year-round shelter. The main reason for this alarming increase is that many families are struggling to find affordable housing, leading to a rise in homelessness. HumanKind offers shelter, affordable housing, basic needs and more to help those in our community struggling with poverty and housing insecurities. Since 1885, HumanKind Ministries (HK) has brought the Wichita community together to serve those living in poverty. Today that work includes providing shelter, affordable housing, basic needs, and supportive services. HK operates three homeless shelters and 155 safe and affordable, permanent housing units to help low-income Wichitans find stability and self-sufficiency. HK operates street outreach programs to provide basic care to the unsheltered homeless community. HK also powers Operation Holiday—the region's largest holiday assistance program that helps thousands get through the year's coldest and most expensive) months.

Once a month, HumanKind picks up hygiene products from the Simply Hygiene warehouse for our clients staying at The Inn, HumanKind's year-round shelter for individuals and families. "Simply Hygiene's partnership provides us with much-needed basic needs items for our clients, allowing our staff to be able to help them move beyond basic needs and into housing," says Brie Ireton, Program Manager for Homeless Services. Simply Hygiene is a nonprofit working to fill the hygiene gap in the community by distributing products such as soap, feminine products, toothbrushes and more to organizations in the Wichita area. Thank you, Simply Hygiene, for all that you do for those in need in the Wichita community.
