Adams County Health Center opened their new clinic with support from HRSA and the USDA, while Terry Reilly Health Services unveiled a new pharmacy in Middleton, with local officials and HRSA representatives in attendance. Both milestones reflect a strong commitment to enhancing healthcare access in our communities.

Today we shine a light on the the 300,000 Community Health Center staff across the country who are committed to making sure everyone has the care they need, regardless of financial circumstances. Whether delivering high-quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate healthcare or going beyond the exam room to provide patients with access to necessities like food and housing, health center staff do life-changing work every day. As we celebrate National Community Health Center week we are thankful for the support of our local, state, and federally elected officials. Idaho’s community health centers are an integral part of Idaho’s healthcare infrastructure through 15 centers with 192 clinics across Idaho. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to ensure we have fresh, nutritious food on our tables. 🔍 Did You Know? 🚜There are over 2 million agricultural workers in the United States. 🚜Many face hazardous working conditions, long hours, and exposure to pesticides and extreme weather. 🚜Despite their essential role, many agricultural workers lack access to affordable healthcare. 🏥 Why Affordable Healthcare Matters: 1️⃣Health Disparities: Agricultural workers often experience higher rates of chronic conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, due to their strenuous work and limited access to healthcare. 2️⃣Preventive Care: Community Health Centers provide essential preventive services, helping to catch and manage health issues early. 3️⃣Economic Impact: Healthy workers are more productive, which supports our agricultural industry and overall economy. 4️⃣Access to Care: Community Health Centers offer affordable and culturally sensitive care, often providing services in the workers' preferred languages. 🧑🌾👩🌾Let's recognize and support our agricultural workers by advocating for accessible, affordable healthcare. Today is National Healthcare for the Homeless Day. Many Idahoans who are experiencing homelessness would go without needed medical, dental, and mental health services if not for locally-based community health centers.  #ValueCHCs #NHCW24 #HealthCareforTheHomelessDay

On this first day of NHCW we celebrate public housing day. Community Health Centers provide essential health services to public housing residents. In 2022, over 6.1 million patients benefited from accessible primary care and disease prevention. Our discussion was insightful and productive, focusing on the valuable initiatives and projects currently underway at ICHCA.
