IMPD’s Crime and Intelligence Analysis Section is currently hiring Civilian Analysts to join our Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) and our Strategic Analysis and Operational Support Unit!
𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐑𝐓𝐂𝐂) 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐬:
Analysts assigned to the RTCC leverage IMPD technologies such as public safety cameras, license plate readers, and intelligence sources to enhance IMPD’s response to crimes in progress and other public safety threats. These analysts also participate in the collection, collation, analysis, dissemination, and evaluation of crime data to discover leads. A RTCC Analyst aides in a wide variety of activities as related to all IMPD Units in the Criminal Investigation Division and Operations Division.
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐬:
Analysts assigned to the Strategic Analysis and Operational Support Unit support IMPD police districts with tactical and strategic analysis in aide of various violence reduction initiatives. These analysts use data analysis techniques, research methods, and geospatial analytics to identify crime trends, enhance strategic priorities, and assess resource allocation. Analysts within this unit also provide live operational support and assist active investigations by monitoring camera systems, utilizing a variety of databases, and conducting open-source analysis across multiple platforms.
Whether assigned to the RTCC or the Strategic Analysis and Operational Support Unit, analysts within the Crime and Intelligence Analysis Section work collaboratively to identify crime trends, assist in the investigation of criminal activity, and enhance IMPD’s public safety objectives.
