More than 1,266 high school students took advantage of the Student-Sponsored Rides program. The program, a partnership between IndyGo and Indianapolis Metropolitan High School, Indianapolis Public Schools, Purdue Polytechnic High School, and Believe Schools, saved the students and their families over $75,000 in fare. “IndyGo Foundation grant bus passes were utilized in all departments of Damien Center including housing, harm reduction, clinic, testing, young adult services, food pantry, and case management. These passes enabled us to provide transportation to participants who do not qualify for other transportation services due to funding restrictions. The IndyGo Foundation was recently awarded $500,000 in cost sharing funds from the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) Indy Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership (INIP) to provide essential infrastructure improvements to bus stops on the city’s Near Eastside.
