"Much of IALR's growth is the result of collaborative efforts and cooperation among many different governing bodies and institutions, all coming together with a 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. Now that others outside the community have observed what was built, they have been inspired to tap into that magic." - Jason Wells, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing Advancement Check out the most recent episode of #InsideIALR for a deep dive into partnerships with the U.S. Navy, some of the focus areas of the IALR Manufacturing Advancement division and more. Do you know a college student looking for an internship where they will make paper copies and fetch coffee all day? If you know someone looking for an internship like that, don't send them our way. We don't have any boring internships like that. But we are looking for a 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 to work approximately 10-20 hours weekly in a fast-paced environment. A self-starter and quick learner, this intern's tasks will range from keeping our website fresh and engaging to creating scroll-stopping social media content. They'll snap and edit photos, shoot videos, craft compelling stories, dabble in technical writing and design eye-catching graphics. The intern will work a maximum of 560 hours between September 2024 and May 2025. The ideal candidate can work independently and has strong writing skills, basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud platforms and experience with WordPress (or other Content Management Systems). Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is required. IALR is an equal-opportunity employer. Learn more and apply here: https://ow.ly/9eOW50SN4Zk

Meet Elizabeth McAdams, an Agricultural Technology intern! Elizabeth is a rising junior at Virginia Tech, where she majors in Food Science & Technology with a minor in Psychology. She is an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. This summer, she is working on two projects that study the effect of endophytes, seed density and propagation materials on the growth and quality of beet microgreens. "I am gaining more knowledge of horticulture and improving my lab skills. What I learn during this internship, I can apply not only to my classes at school, but to my future career also." This is Elizabeth's second year interning with IALR's Applied Research division. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and collecting CDs/tapes, painting, cooking and spending time with friends and family. #InternsAtIALR24
