Apply today — or share this opportunity with a student! The deadline is tomorrow, Aug. 28 at 11:59 pm CDT. Scholarships will help students receive: -Funding to cover the workshop -One-year IRE membership -A travel stipend (up to $400) The day-and-a-half-long training will take place Sept. 5-6 at the Atlanta University Center. As the school year kicks off, here’s a #journalism training opportunity for college students! If you’re a professor or campus advisor in the #Atlanta area, would you help us spread the word? IRE and Ida B. Wells Society are partnering to host a student workshop Sept. 5-6! The training is specially designed for: -Students of color in the South -Students of all backgrounds attending HBCUs and minority-serving institutions Our speakers will teach a variety of broad investigative skills — from conducting interviews and accessing public information, to tapping into the power of data and AI. Attendees do not need prior journalism or investigative experience to attend! The workshop has an optional half-day of data training and a networking mixer on Thursday, Sept. 5. The full day of investigative training will take place on Friday, Sept. 6. Registration is $15, and IRE has several scholarships available to help students with attendance and travel costs!
