We’re thrilled that Katie McEachern has joined the IHC Board. Katie has recently directed global marketing operations at Parexel, in Durham, NC & SDL PLC in Wakefield, MA. A Newton resident, she holds a BSCE in Engineering from Bucknell U. Katie & her daughter are participating in a sprint triathlon in Minneapolis next month. She added that the event “would be a fun way to introduce the organization to my friends by doing a fundraiser for Italian Home for Children.” Bravo, Katie!

Many thanks to our JP neighbors at Charles River Church - 8 church members visited our campus to play with kids from the Intensive Treatment Residence program. All enjoyed relay races, arts & crafts, basketball, a water balloon toss, sidewalk chalk drawing & more. One parishioner said, “These kids are really resilient. Thank you to everyone who came to Italian Home on August 4 to pay tribute to Sister Margaret Yennock, who passed away last December. For over 40 years, Sister Margaret was a dedicated teacher & friend to our children & continued supporting us through the yard sales she held even after her retirement. The chapel was filled for the service, reminiscences & unveiling of her plaque. Guests enjoyed refreshments under a tent by the memorial garden planted in her honor. As her obituary noted, “Sister Margaret Thérèse brought her sense of humor, love of music, and compassionate heart to everyone she met.” We are most grateful to Whole Foods Market in Jamaica Plain & Dunkin' in W.
