Last week, Ryder Trauma Center hosted a water safety training with hands-on lessons on sea creature bites, propeller strikes, and jet ski accidents, with essential instruction on hemorrhage control, tourniquets, and wound packing. Partnering with #MDFR Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Ocean Rescue, Miami-Dade Police Department, and the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami, we're ensuring our community stays safe through the life-saving expertise of these dedicated professionals. @

Jackson Health System and UHealth – University of Miami Health System are pioneering stroke recovery in South Florida with the only FDA-approved Vivistim Paired VNS System, an innovative device that, combined with targeted therapy at Lynn Rehabilitation Center, has shown remarkable results in helping stroke survivors regain upper limb function. Dr. Robert M. Starke, co-director of endovascular neurosurgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a UHealth neurosurgeon and interventional neuroradiologist, will lead the implantation of this groundbreaking technology at our facilities.   “The benefit of this innovative procedure is that it enables hundreds of stroke survivors to regain more independence months or years of not being able to function, and it’s a simple procedure,” Dr. Starke said. “This procedure, paired with Jackson and UHealth’s state-of-the-art facilities and highly trained neurosurgeons, therapists, and clinical care experts, showcase our dedication to provide the best quality of life for stroke survivors and their families.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/d-XWdZKS
