Congratulations to JBS’s Amber Murray, RN, BSN, MA, PMP, and her co-presenter, Dr. Eboni Winford from Cherokee Health Systems, on their important and well-received talk, “Scaling Integrated Care Innovations Training to Achieve Workforce Retention and Improve Health Outcomes” on August 25 at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Community Health Institute and Expo. The session provided participants with innovative strategies to enhance workforce wellbeing and improve patient behavioral health outcomes, offered opportunities to establish connections for ongoing support as providers, and shared training and technical assistance resources for enhancing integrated services within health centers. The room was packed and afterward, participants rated the session with top marks. It has been a pleasure working with Catherine Brennan this summer. Thanks, Catherine, for all your contributions to JBS!
One week ago was my last day as an intern with JBS International, Inc. and even as I begin my semester abroad, I am still reflecting on all I learned this summer. As a Health Communications Intern, I: - researched and wrote 10+ social media posts for several platforms (X, LinkedIn and Facebook). - identified ways to improve the corporate social media accounts. - researched and wrote a blog post on the various obstacles communities of color face when seeking mental health treatment. All of these experiences not only strengthened my writing skills, but expanded my knowledge of public health as well. I am confident that I will carry everything I learned during my time with JBS through every future endeavor. I want to thank Deborah Lurie, Janet Choy, and Ruth Ann Speir for bringing me on the team. Melinda Campopiano von Klimo, MD, a senior medical advisor, and subject matter expert at JBS, develops products for health professionals on addiction-related topics, primary care, and women’s health. She has a long-standing interest in the adoption of evidence-based practices and recently published “Physician Reluctance to Intervene in Addiction: A Systematic Review” in JAMA Network Open. Dr. Campopiano also contributes to developing training and technical assistance for grantees responding to the opioid epidemic in rural communities. Previously, Dr. Campopiano led the development of resources for providers and the public at SAMHSA. She has also served in addiction treatment programs and primary care medicine. Dr. Campopiano has shared her knowledge and experience with other health professionals through CME courses and classroom and bedside instruction.
