Not gonna lie, work can sometimes knock it out of me. Maintaining steady focus and engagement, shifting rapidly between contexts, jumping from problems to solutions and back again, moving through a stream of shifting conversations... it can tap my system - even when the flow is good, and exciting and fun, it can be a lot. My recovery and rejuvenation comes in a bunch of different forms. A super important one for me is getting my quiet time in, slowing myself down through painting or drawing. I had such a great time talking with Andrew Lau about this and the freedom that comes from letting yourself get it all wrong on the canvas. I loved some of the reflections Andrew shared as we talked about how those lessons in the after hours can influence the working hours.
