This week, over 30 Ben-Gurion Society members convened for an evening of learning and discussion surrounding antisemitism. The Federation's Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) Director Max Patashnik led these young leaders in a workshop centered around tangible tools and language to utilize in scenarios where hate and antisemitism are present. Thank you to everyone who attended and lent their efforts towards making a positive impact in our Seattle Jewish community!

"In many ways, camp is more important now than it has ever been before. It’s not easy to be a young person, but the pressures of school, social media, and news headlines dissipate at summer camp. More than that though, it has been a difficult year to be a Jewish young person as many have seen antisemitism firsthand and heard near constant criticism of Israel since last fall. And, for the staff at summer camps – many of whom are college students – camp is a welcome respite from the charged environment on university campuses." Federation President & CEO Solly Kane discusses the value of Jewish summer camps in the latest Letter From The CEO. https://lnkd.in/gXCSTDfa

"I hope that many people in our broader community will attend the exhibit when it reopens because the need for a conversation about confronting hate has never been more needed than now. And, I hope that our Jewish community turns out strongly to both support the Historical Society but also to take the time to learn about the hate other groups in our community have experienced and to offer our communal support and efforts for a better tomorrow." In this week's Letter from the CEO, Federation President & CEO Solly Kane reflects on the closure and reopening of the Wing Luke Museum's "Confronting Hate Together" exhibit and the pressing need for a dialogue on antisemitism and other forms of hate.
